слайд 1 Dear guests, students and teachers, good morning. I Elizaveta Beschatnaya and I Victoria Klopova are going to take a tour of the Chekhov places in Taganrog. A.P. Chekhov is the pride of Taganrog. There are a lot of places connected with our great writer in the town.

слайд 2 We decided to start the study of Chekhov's places from this small house where the famous writer was born.

слайд 3 The museum has 3 rooms and a kitchen. The rooms are so small. But it is not essential compared with the atmosphere that we managed to preserve here.

слайд 4 Chekhov’s shop is not less popular among tourists. The Chekhov family lived in a two-story house for 5 years from 1869.

слайд 5The men's classical gymnasium where A. Chekhov studied, is a literary museum now. In the gymnasium we can learn the literary work of the writer.

слайд 8 and even the punishment cell.

слайд 9 And now we are in Chekhov's square. In the center of it there is the monument to the writer. It was opened in January 1960 to the 100th anniversary of the writer's birth.

слайд 10 A.P. Chekhov was the founder of a public library in his hometown. Wherever Chekhov was, he sent books to Taganrog from everywhere.

слайд 11 The town theater is one of the oldest in the south of Russia. To be honest, Chekhov was a great theatre lover and spent there all his savings.

слайд 12 Walking along Taganrog streets we can see the sculptures of Chekhov’s book characters.

слайд 13 Taganrog is the town which gave the world the great writer A.P.Chekhov and the people of Taganrog love and respect their countryman.

слайд 14 We proudly want to tell you there is a Chekhov Corner in our school museum. It is not surprising as Chekhov’s grandparents lived in Bolshekrepinskaya and in the neighboring village Knyazevo (Plato-Ivanovka).

слайд 15, Anton Chekhov's older brother Alexander was born in Bolshekrepinskaya.

слайд 16 Anton Chekhov often visited Bolshekrepinskaya. The impressions of our places are reflected by the writer in the stories "Steppe" and "Beauty."
